NOBLE Conducts Target Hardening Equipment Demo for Kentucky Schools

NOBLE ASSISTS SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICERS WITH THE LATEST TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS TO ENHANCE SCHOOL SECURITY

NOBLE conducted a demo on March 11th for multiple Kentucky School District SROs, Senior School Leadership, and other Law Enforcement officers from throughout the state. The demo showcased the features of the Xonar TruePort® and TrueScan™️ systems, which provide a cutting-edge portable security solution to enhance school safety proactively. These versatile tools can be used throughout the school day—screening entrances, sporting events, and large gatherings in the auditorium or gymnasium—making security seamless and efficient.

Ed Levy, NOBLE’s Director of Critical Infrastructure, demonstrates the features of the Xonar TruePort® and TrueScan™️ systems to Kentucky School District leadership, school resource officers, and law enforcement.

THE XONAR PORTABLE SECURITY SYSTEM

XONAR TruePort® FEATURES

  • Highly portable with a set-up time of under 5 minutes: TruePort® features built-in wheels and folding/unfolding capabilities, allowing it to be easily transported and set up in under 5 minutes with a boot-up time of less than 2 minutes.
  • Small footprint: TruePort® units have a minimal footprint of 5 feet and can be set up back-to-back with no space needed between units.
  • Detection capabilities: TruePort® detects ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as non-metallic threats.
  • AI threat decision time: TruePort®’s AI enables rapid threat scanning and detection within just 200 milliseconds.
  • High throughput: With high-throughput capabilities, TruePort® helps to maintain swift and seamless security screening processes.

XONAR TrueScan™️FEATURES

  • Small footprint: Xonar TrueScan™ is a 50x30 Al-enabled x-ray machine. The portable machine is suitable for scanning backpacks, purses, and medium-sized boxes while maintaining a small footprint. With its built-in wheels, TrueScan™ can be easily moved from one location to another.
  • Al inference mode scoring: Xonar TrueScan™'s Al feature highlights the prohibited contents of a bag. This allows the operator to speed up the inspection process substantially. The Al labels items with a percentile-based scoring system. The operator should inspect any detection that it finds concerning.
  • Identify weapons and objects: Xonar TrueScan™'s Al is not only limited to identifying handguns and knives. It can recognize dozens of other objects, such as smoke bombs, pistol magazines (partially or fully loaded), liquor bottles, airhorns, smoke bombs, and flares, to name a few. Additional Al object recognition training is available upon request.

THE NEED FOR ENHANCED SCHOOL SECURITY

Target hardening is a standard security practice used by the military, law enforcement, and critical infrastructure protection. It has become more frequently used in school applications as a response to the rise in school violence incidents. The benefits of target hardening in schools include threat mitigation, deterrence, rapid response, and a psychological sense of well-being for students and staff to promote a positive learning environment.
