Stevensville, MD (August 5, 2019) –

Federal Resources, a leading provider of quality products and mission-critical solutions that support the U.S. military, state and local first response teams, has announced their selection of a single outstanding candidate to be awarded the second Warrior’s Legacy Scholarship for the 2019-2020 academic school year in the amount of $5,000. The Scholarship Fund, awarded annually, was implemented in 2018 with efforts to further expand the company’s commitment to those who serve and have served by providing financial assistance to their children that are pursuing higher education.

The recipient, Chase Hinman, was chosen by the Scholarship Committee as he has distinguished himself through extraordinary academic success and written explanation of what he believes are the core characteristics that a service member/first responder embodies. Chase answered that “for service members and first responders, their commitment is not just to selflessness, but to a dedicated, active, recurring, and constant willingness to place other’s above themselves. It’s a way of life… selflessness is the core characteristic that first responders and service members embody; all other values flow from a complete and total dedication to selfless service.” Hinman is the son of an Air Force officer that toured 6 times during his 24 years of service to our country.

Federal Resources CEO, Larry Gwaltney, said about the scholarship, “Our company’s scholarship program plays an important role in supporting our commitment to those that protect and defend us. This is our second year awarding our scholarship to a fantastic student who demonstrates everything that we value here at Federal Resources. We are proud to continue this tradition because it is one small way that we can express our gratitude to the dedicated service members across this country while also allowing their children the means to follow their dreams and reach their fullest potential.”

Chase Hinman, Rice University

Chase Hinman FR Warrior Scholarship recipientChase is a 2017 graduate of Ronald Reagan High School and currently attends Rice University. He serves as an EMT while in an undergraduate program at the university and has over 700 hours of service with Rice Emergency Medical Services, where he continues to serve until he completes his degree. Upon graduation, Chase plans to join the Air Force in the footsteps of his father and serve in our nation’s military as a doctor.

“As I grew older, I found myself drawn to the higher calling of contributing selflessly to the community… With my father’s 24 years of military service and my mother’s countless sacrifices along the way, I feel like I’m part of a proud heritage of service before self. I saw this in my two grandfathers, who also served in the Air Force, and in my uncle, who was an Air Force Doctor. It’s in my blood, it’s the family business. It’s who I am and who I want to be.”
